Winner
Maddie was the winner in the Contemporary Music Piano Festival yesterday for her division, age 8-9. She will represent San Diego at the state level, San Francisco, in February. She performed Romance (from Puppet Dances) by Shostakovich and Two Ladies Gossiping by Khachaturian. This is a highly competitive event. Maddie was the only caucasian in her division. We are seeing this more and more in music. The Chinese-Americans are working harder and are in it to win. It makes for some tough competition. I am so proud of Maddie and all her hard work. It's not easy for an 8 year old (I guess technically she just turned 9) to focus and practice as long as it takes to be competitive in music.

That is awesome! You are lucky to have her and she is lucky to have you, a talented woman that has the ability and the drive to help her succeed :)
